Matt Berninger, frontman de The National, publicó la canción tributo con la que participará en el disco homenaje a The Velvet Underground & Nico, que aparecerá en septiembre próximo.
La canción elegida por Berninger es “I’m Waiting for the Man”, aparecida originalmente en 1967 como parte del disco The Velvet Underground & Nico, famosa por su portada de la banana diseñada por Andy Warhol.
La compilación homenaje, I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to the Velvet Underground & Nico, incluye otras versiones de Kurt Vile, Michael Stipe, Iggy Pop y Matt Sweeney, y Courtney Barnett, entre otros.
